Bill's Steps and Anna's Bed

A performance at City Hall, Los Angeles on Monday, November 28, 2011 – the afternoon following the first stated eviction of protestors from the City Hall grounds – of a rendition of Bill “Bojangles” Robinson’s stair dance, from the “Little Colonel” (1934) with Shirley Temple. And a performance on the Spring Street steps on Saturday, December 10, 2011 – the afternoon of a protest march to City Hall/ LAPD in opposition of the eviction – of Anna Halprin’s “The Bed” (1957) from the Golden Positions pieces. This piece is part of my ongoing project On the Rocks, In the Land.
