Hats-Off / What Do You Do [video]

This video has screened at Galerie White Projects (Paris), Jaus Gallery (Los Angeles), and The Vargas Museum (Manila, Philippines) under the title, “Hats-Off”. The exhibition copy has an audio track of building applause, much like rainfall. The version below takes its audio from my song-poem “What Do You Do”, captured in group performance form here.
The video as a whole is inspired by the expression ‘to wear many hats’. As hats float upwards on screen like End Roll for film credits, the video responds to how artists today carry many roles and responsibilities within or in support of their individual practices.
