Hope May

For this performance on Memorial Day weekend 2011, I guided visitors into singing two chants, in groups. My spoken text includes all the “Hope” statements received or sent by me in emails during the month of May 2008 – in the midst of the first Obama presidential campaign. This performance was part of the ‘twelve-hour song’, 12:12 Song, event at Actual Size Gallery, and for which many of the participants had been awake the entire night preceding.
