What Do You Do
[2011, interactive performance, 15 minutes, at BELLYFLOP Gallery in Los Angeles]
What Do You Do was first performed live for the Eternal Telethon at BELLYFLOP Gallery in Los Angeles (August 2011). For the performance I asked groups of participants to sing three separate lines of the score, meanwhile to individually respond to the question, “What Do You Do?” when the umbrella was passed to them. The collection of statements is a comment upon the various roles and responsibilities young artists today hold in support of or contributing to their art practices. Below is an excerpt from my song-poem, What Do You Do.
